Hi

What do you guys generally change when winter fishing ?
Rigs - is there a winter rig ?
Feeding - more or less, flavors ?
Hook baits - Size color and flavor ?
Distance - under 80m or more than 80m
General approach ?

Hoping for a fruitful winter so any tips and advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks

do you plan on casting 80m, or swimming out ur lines like ur used too hahahaha sorry i couldnt help myself..

I guess your approach would also depend on how long you plan on fishing, longer sessions or shorter sessions, also depends on the lake, but in general some ppl feed less, i guess it just depends man.. dont over think it, go with the flow..

lol I walked right into that one.....
The reason I used 80m was bec I don't think I can cast further than that lol. I plan on tackling florida lake this winter but all short session and a few overnighters. Let me know when you fishing again bud I have a few question for you if you don't mind lol

im sure you would be able to cast further man...

short sessions, maybe prefeeding the swim will help, stringers, stick mix could work as well, different ways to tackle that place man, although i blank alot at that venue lol

PVA bags work as well.

I don't really change anything, except that I go fishing more frequently.I don't use flavours or change hookbait sizes.I just keep a steady trickle of a good quality fishmeal boilie into the favoured areas of my target venue, and fish the same as a hookbait.Rigs should be determined by external factors such as water conditions, bottom make-up and weather ie a zig during sunny, high pressure days. Not by which season it is.I always have one rod roaming with an odd hookbait/presentation,usually in a completely different location. But that's something that I do all the time, not only winter.

not much changes for me in winter except I catch better fish.

For the guys who expect instant success, winter fishing is not very productive. The guys who work hard and approach venues with a plan, they do well.

So true Johan.

It takes patience and planning. Although it is always good to learn from others, if you stick to the basics and what has been producing results for you I would not change too much, maybe just feed a little less as the metabolism of Carp does slow down. I would also say feature finding and locating the fish would also have to be accurate as Carp move around less in winter.

Hope there are many PB's broken this winter
