So decided to go and camp for a night at Roodeplaat, with the kids.
The kids where constantly busy catching +- 1kg Carps, non stop,
A lot of the time , they reel in and both hooks have got carp on.

A week prior to this we had a nice rain storm, and I sent the kids out
Afterwards with Icecream tubs to catch me as many flying Ants as they could.

I packed them into a zip lock bag and into the freezer for the next fishing trip.

While the kids where fishing my son got stuck, and broke off.. I was really not in the mood to make up another rig, so I slid up a ball sinker, swivel short trace to a single hook.
Packed this full of ants, first few rolling them up the hook shank like u would a worm. Then the last 10 or so, just putting the hook through there once, leaving all the wings on aswell.

Just before casting I just squashes the would bunch between my fingers to "pop" them and get the sent out..

The angler next to me had platties and carp heads in and had not had a bite the whole previous night , and he was convinced they where off the bite.

My rod must have been in for 20min.. When it screamed off And I landed my first Roodeplaat Cat.

So after that I was convinced I had found the "secret" bait that was working
And hoped to hook another.. So re baited as mentioned above and back the line went again.. Prob only about 50m in as was casting with quite a small light ball sinker.

This time it was in for 10 min and off it went again !!

This time abit bigger with a 9kg cat!! Awsome fight !!
