Suzuki DF30 or DF40 - Fusion 15

Hi,

I am looking at getting myself a Fusion 15 and putting the "new" DF30 or DF40 on the back. Does anyone know if the DF30 is available in SA yet? Suzuki's website shows it, so I am guessing it is? I'll give South Sea Suzuki a call on Monday but was hoping someone could enlighten me in the meantime.

Have any of you had any experience with this motor, 30 or 40 and boat combination yet, if so please share, or could you please pass on his contact details as I like to get as much info beforehand so as to make an informed decision.

These boats are fairly new and I can't find a second hand one anywhere. If any of you have one, how is it?

I am looking at using it for estuary & dam fishing only and 90% of the time I will be alone.

If you guys know of any other websites I can refer to please post the link, it will be most appreciated. I have done a fair amount of searching already and have found very little.

Cheers!

Just went onto their site. Very nice boat, so nice actually, I just asked for a quote. (I would go 40hp)

Hi, I order mine yesterday and paid the deposit. I will be going into the mould next week, I am very excited. Should take around 4 to 5 weeks to complete.

I have decided on the 40HP and now sit with the headache of Yamaha or Suzuki as both companies have given me very similiar quotes

Hi ftruter

What is your take on this boat? Enjoying it?
These boats look to be in a class of their own.

Seems to be the closest SA built when compared to the American inshore/bay boats.

Hi Mr Simpson,

This is a bloody good boat, I love it to bits, easy to handle launching and retrieving (one man show), light on fuel, I have a 60HP Suzuki 4 stroke. It is CAT D registered so I do go to sea often from Struisbaai. It doesn't really look like a dry boat, but trust me, I have yet to get wet on it!! Ample storage space. I have been on many boats in my life, but for fishing purposes, it is the best I have been on so far. I can't find any to complain about.

The 17 is very nice to, gives you an option for twin engine installation.

Fusion is current making a 19 as well, the first one has just come out of the mould, now this is an awesome craft.

Give James Turner a call and ask him to send you some pics or go to their facebook page for a look see.

Hehe...I was in Knysna over the weekend and saw the 19. Bit too big for my application but surely a boat that will make a huge impression. I still can't believe how dry and stable the ride is - awesome design

The Fusion 19 will be the first proper dual-purpose boat to be made locally. It will have an 18 degree deaderise (competitors are only 13 deg and therefore less suitable for sea going applications) whilst still boasting sufficient seating for family days out. And being a mono, it can be used for watersports. This is a game-changer allright.
