Hey guys I just have to share this with you.

I have been privileged and fortunate enough to do quite a few Seychelles outer island trips. On some of the islands around the lodge the locals have created a sanctuary for GT's where they regularly feed the fish and no fishing is allowed. On a recent trip our sanctuary was holding I guess over 50 massive GT pets that always follow the boats when leaving and returning for the days fishing.

Being besotted with the size of GT's you are trying to guess the length with comments like " look at that one must be 130cm, and that black one 150cm" and so on and further comments like "that monster will kick your butt". A story the one guide told me was that he once motored slowly out the sanctuary basically walking the GT's on the flats where you are allowed to fish for them and he asked the clients to cast but they refused in fear of being cleaned up when the monsters headed back home after being hooked.

With not being allowed to fish for the pets, I had to feel the power of these monsters and so organized GT tug of war with rope and Bonita.
These beasts hold on and pull like there is no tomorrow. I almost managed to get one in the boat, for a quick photo, measurement and release.

Here are some pics of the action, I will try and post a video clip.

Cheers
Craig

I did snorkel with them but you have to watch your back as they bite if you make any quick movements thinking its food.

Just hung in the shollows with my back and legs halfway sticking out the slipway.

One of the local showd me his bit mark from being bitten a week before.

Also heard stories of clients loosing their GoPro's when filiming them under water.

Awesome , i wonder if these fish are fed occasionally which would result in them hanging around a particular area?

Would be awesome if this happened somewhere on our coastline like at Kosi?
