Baie posts verwys "mense" na "dit is fun op light tackle".
WTF.
Fun vir jou of fun vir die vis.
Moenie die vis laat ly nie; veral indien jy hom nie gaan eet nie.
En, nee, ek is nie deel van Grienpies, Seeskaapwagters, etc.
Miskien was my Pa verkeerd om my te leer dat wanneer die vis aan die hoek is dan bring jy hom so vinnig moontlik uit. As hy te klein is "gooi terug". Moenie fight met die vis nie. Die vis wou net eet... Dit was 50 jaar gelede; lank voor catch&release, of wat dit ookal deesdae genoem word.

Indien ek "out of line" is met deesdae se denkwyse...I rest my case; in peace. And I stick to my fathers belief and fishing inheretance.

That's why I target sharks on heavy 0.60-0.80mm and not 0.40mm

Bliksem- dis nou n "2sides of a coin" een die.
Om haaie op ligte gery te teiken is verkeerd,
Eetvis is vir my(persoonlik) beter om lig te vang, want ek kry byte, interme van lyn sterkte en hoek stroppe is dit dieselfde of ek nou my 14ft of 11ft gebruik, maar bygese eet ok n hele paar van hulle.

N groot deel van visvang is die kuns, tegniek en plesier om n vis uiteoorle in te bring in moelike terrain, soos ek se, dis altwee kante van die munt storie.

Ek glo wel, as jou doel is om n vis terug te gaan sit, gebruik die maksimum sterkte wat jou "toelaat" om n vis te vang.

Kopstamp, if you were fishing 8 lbs line on your Garrick then you would be fishing light but you fish 20 or 30lbs which is in line with bliksem's post.

Going out to target Mussel crackers in reefs with 10lbs is doing what bliksem's referring to the you fish inappropriate tackle.

Targeting bronze bream on 0.30mm is perfect even when you intend catch and release. Hooking and landing a 15kg Cracker on that tackle by accident is light table fun with a lot of skill and luck involved.
