the water had dropped allot - its the first time ive ever seen an island in the dam at boschkop?

ok back to the fishing - we managed 4-5 fish between my buddy and i
nothing over 1kg, was fairly windy during the day time,

not the best of trips but none the less a day out

Hio Delwyn,

I :fishn Saturday afternoon/night and Sunday at the UJ Place which is on the left hand side of the road going to Deneysville. Plenty of space and quiet ... apart from some night time revellers (Sharks supporters:fbash LOL) and some jackels howling in the night .  You are right, the water level is very low.

Fishing was slow and fortunately we had the wind on our backs most of the time.

Caught mixed bag of carp, muddies and yellowfish - 26 fish in total between my buddy and myself. This was from wading in waste deep and casting between 80 and 100 metres. Fish were caught on rietvlei slide trace with mealie bomb and floaties (raspberry, pink sweets, bunspice and almond). Nothing spectacular, biggest carp :wfish just making 2 kg.

Guys fishing to the right of us used a :kaykak to create a feeding spot and to take their baits out. Their tempo was far too slow and only managed a barber of about four kg and a decent carp in the region of about 6kg.

There are some quality fish in the Vaal but they are sitting deep.
