This administration has shown again and again that they see absolutely zero value in recreational fishing, in fact quite the opposite.

In Australia, recreational fishers waged a hugely successful campaign called 'I Fish and I Vote' which saw many concessions passed to improve and acknowledge the immense economic and social value of recreational fishing.

Guys, you can make an impact. Email your thoughts on this and other steps being taken to kill recreational fishing in SA to Carol Moses, the Minister's spin doctor via evelinem@daff.gov.za , or else to minister@daff.gov.za or minister@nda.agric.za.

Hammer them guys, but keep it reasonable and do not rant. We need these idiots to appreciate the huge value of recreational fishing to the economy, and the sheer numbers behind it.

Hi Capt.

This seems to be a summary from the report (word doc) and the date on there is May 2008.

I disagree. This info needs to be made public. If I could get the job numbers that recreational fishing supports, both directly and indirectly, then I can almost guarantee that I can get this published in some pretty high profile publications...

I think all of us care.. problem is .. most of us recreationals have jobs and responsibilities. Thus when it comes to objecting against such decisions, we are poorly represented in Numbers.

Hey guys

Please sign this petition, and share it like crazy! We want to try draw as much attention to this issue as possible, before the DG signs it off on Friday!

Thanks

if you do a google search for past week South Africa, "kreef season 2013" there almost no results except this page and not much else regarding this, seems this slashing of quotas is not in the mainstream media?
