Hey Graeme, good to see you back mate. Glad you are well...... let's chat when you get the chance.

I agree with Nepps, maybe 20 of those Carpenters "Frogs" will do the job. There be plenty GTs in that part of the world

Nepps' name is in Red because "He now be BEEEG FEESHING BOSSMAN!!!"

Sorry Nepps. I had to say that mate.......

Nepps, I have seen a number of Carpenter "Venus" poppers at Angling Africa, and under correction I seem to recall they had 1 or 2 Frogs there as well. Give Pieter a call, they may have some in stock.

Bloody Expensive though.

Graeme, precicely. After that trip (took your advice and chartered the boats for only Linda and I, so no splitting of costs). I have a few Venus poppers in my box for next time, but didn't get any Frogs as back then they didn't have any in SA.

After Baz trip, VISA started smoking.......so will wait a few months until the next trip starts looming (and I am SAP ped in again). This also gives VISA card time to cool down...... much needed given current interest rates.

We are planning a trip to the Bahamas next year, friends of ours have a house in Nassau, and are moving back there from the UK in April 09. They are also big mates with a number of the Charter skippers, and have formally invited us over next year.......

Have BA Airmiles, will travel. In the new year we will start getting dates formalised.......MMmm, I can't WAIT!!!!

Will have to start plumbing Nepps vast resources for info......

Rb - Thanks mate, will call this weeke again.. Pieter was out when I called and didn't think it worth bothering the man on his cell late afternoon..

Now back to the original topic...
A: Does anyone have a copy of the show?
B: The size....

Here is a weighed 74 kilo Doggie....

Are we talking twice this fish's size or more??!?!?!?

And here is a 440lb ( 200 kilo ) Black Marlin.........

Granted a Marlin is a very different shape to a Tuna.... but still....

A tuna to match this?

Certainly a beastie!! In my uneducated opinion as I've never caught one yet (will be trying Latham in November!) I would hazard a guess at 120-130.

Heihachi - The reel is an Accurate and I think the rod is a Jigging Master, but I'm not completely certain..... I'll check with Darren the angler and let you know...

Heihachi - Just got word back from Darren, and as I thought, the rod he used is a custom built rod, built up off a Jigging Master JM 400 blank.... Unreal equipment!
