Howzit chaps!

Trying to source one of these badboys but it seems that there are very few around. Anyone know of one or have one for sale please give me a shout.

Any blueprint design/copy of the 1911A1 is also fine , Ruger, Remington and S$W will all do.

Hi Pringle

There are plenty 2nd hand 1911 floating around. If you cant find a decent Colt or Remington then I would seriously look at the Norincos. They are bloody strong and is a great base to work off especially if you gonna spend money on mods. You should be able to pick up a good one for about R4k.

I am a big 1911 freak and shoot IPSC classic division. I checked my diary and have shot every weekend for the last 6 months barring 2 weekends.

Careful, 1911 can become an addiction.

So after many hours on the phone and several visits to gunshops |'ve managed to find a few 1911's around the CT area.

Secondhand ones were generally well used and most had developed some wear and tear issues, although not major it almost immediately put me off buying a used one simply because i hadn't found a decent one.

Came across two new batches that arrived in CT last week, the Remington R1 and the Ruger SR1911. I was looking for a two tone but like the Stainless steel Ruger version so will be test firing a demo model this coming weekend and most likely put down a deposit and get cracking with the paperwork.

Quick question @ Pringle.

Why .45?

what will the gun be used for?

Sport or self defense?

You might be looking at the wrong type of weapon for the wrong application.

Like using Terminal tackle to fish for stumps.

@ Brett, Who do you shoot for?

& will you be doing the WPPSA trial this weekend?

That's correct yes, the Ruger is going for R12 500 at guns and bows. Just a handful left though.

I just have a love for the 1911 and it will be used for my time spent on the farm to put down clients wounded animals, my carry weapon when i see fit but just also to blast away at the range.

There may be more practical options but the 1911 is what ive decided on after shooting a few other handguns.

Shukokai?

Sounds like a crap club.

just kidding.......I'm a non active member as well

I used to do the stats for WPPSA.

Want to get schooled by a minor caliber?

My last grade was B when I was last active before I broke my hand 4 years ago.

Showed my face earlier this year at a fun day , turns out I can still shoot.:fbash
