A family friend wants to sell her late husband’s fairly large collection of fishing tackle through a “garage sale†from her private residence in Somerset West on Saturday, 20 April 2013.
The collection consists of some 40 reels, 20 rods and numerous other items.
Reel brand names include ABU Garcia (Ambassadeur Cardinal and Abu-matic), Daiwa (Millionaire, Sweepfire, Saltist and Saltiga), Shimano (Calcutta and several different models spinning, baitcaster and baitrunners), Penn (Accord, Sargus, Magpower and 5500 SS) and a number of others (Newell, ABU and Xplorer fly reels, KP and Okuma CORTEZ).
Rods include ABU Garcia baitcasters, Shimano spinning, baitcasters and surfcasting, King Fisher Deluxe Graphite (Surfcasting) and Gully Hunter (dropshot), and various other rods including Assassin Beachmaster, Poseidon HMG, Basil Manning Custom 300/0, Elbe Waverunner, Berkley Air, Ecotec Titan HMG with Titanium fly rod in solid metal tube and one or two Basil Manning custom built surf rods of unknown blanks.
Other items include sinkers (various weights), hooks (assorted), sinker molds, sand spike, rod buckets, two SS prawn pumps (Alvey), assorted made-up traces (sliding and normal), large collection of mostly brand new lures (Rapala), spoons, plugs and poppers, medium size blue tackle bag (Easy Angling), floats, non-return slides, Live well, cast net, several gaffs and numerous other odds and ends such as new ghost cotton, etc.
Due to the large number of items available, it will be impractical/impossible to post photo’s.
All the items are sold voetstoots and for this reason the items have been priced well below normal asking prices. Although prices have been allocated to all items, any reasonable offers will be considered.
Kindly note that the items will ONLY be available for sale during the “garage sale†on 20 April 2013. It would therefore be appreciated if you would respect the widow’s wishes in this regard.
