Hi guys. Will be competing in the kurper bonanza on the 6th. My dad and I are fishing from kayaks and we have a small issue with distance to the best spots. If someone has some marks for the spots so I can put them in my etrex so I can judge the time it will take to get to the spots and the distance etc... Please help me out. If guys are shy about making their marks public, please pm me.

Hope to hear from you experienced kurper catchers :D
Tight lines!

Since about 4 years ago I think. Probably only for the bonanza though. I've never been bugged by hippos or crocs. Had more trouble with sharks in the ocean :kaykak

They started letting Kyaks on the Kurper bonanza about 3 or 4  years ago they are only allowed to launch one hour after first light  they are not allowed to criss cross the dam have to cross the dam in front of the slip way There are a lot of rules they have to abide too

I dont think there are a lot of people who knows what a no wake is The nost guys cut the throttel all the way back till the bow lifts and the stern digs in and cruse slow  But that is the way it is the Kayak are also suposed to hug the shore and the big wave wakes start in the middle of the dam working out That is a tough one

I agree, the only problem is when we cross the dam in front of the slipway and the guys come hauling ass past us. The wake has almost knocked me off a couple times. I must say I am jealous, wish I had a boat to make wakes with

Fished Loskop on the 28th Feb and man that dam is full of fish.It was my first time there and i caught BIG barbel, 3 species of kurper, a few karp (long and thin) and some fierce fighting rednose muddies. This dam is awesome and although i didn't count or keep any fish(didn't wanna waste time with a keepnet or bag i really enjoyed it and will be visiting again at the end of Mrt.

We went left from the launch just past a cavelike part of the mountain.I didn't get to try any baits other than brown bread mixed with a bit of maroek and dipped in worm extract.I caught eveything on this except for the barbel which i caught on day old chicks.

Will like to know as well . I did not go this year but I am sure fishing was slow with all the rain the water temp must be cold.
