Hi guys,

As a lot of you know we started CatFish Africa after testing the TeamCatfish products over the last year or so. We have been extremely excited to see the response from the guys on this site and would like to thank each and every one of you for the support in the tackle range.

We are slowly getting everything in place now and our Website will be up and running by months end. But with everything we need content, so the guys that have bought our tackle and caught fish with it and taken pictures we would like to get your pictures onto the website in our customer section. If you would like for your pictures featuring our tackle to go up please post your pictures here or send them to me at rob@catfishafrica.com. Also any comments on the tackle good or bad please send to me, and if you guys want put a small story about the catch with the pictures and mail, i know i look forward to reading guys reports so would be nice to have them up on the site with your name.

We started the organisation to help promote our beloved past time and we can only keep it going with your guys support, i don't look at this as CatFish Africa's website ,or company for that matter, but something we are all a part of. We started this for you guys so lets see how far we can all take this sport and hopefully start to see a spring bok or 2 come from our ranks. We also thank you guys for sticking with us while we sort out all our bugs so to speak. But i believe we can look forward to a great year and as always

Tight Lines.

The website will be based on the products, and we will right how to articles and videos. Its more about getting knowledge out there than anything else. But this is your guys website at the edn of the day. If you have an idea you would oike up there let us know.

So far we will have product reviews and catalogue, a Q and A, so you guys send in a question and one of us, probeerly all of us will answer it. Articles we will right on bait presentation, what to look for in finding a likely fishing spot etc. Also videos on how to rig baits how to use certain products. Eventually we will have a memebers section which will have a whole lot of cometitions and the like to it, also will give my better access to the CatFish Africa Team.

But it is a work in progress, basically we want a catfish only site where you guys can log on and find anything you need info wise and if its not there or needs a bit more explaining we will be be happy to answer it. Hope that makes sense, lol.

GC i will go through them and put a couple up for you, if there are any that you want to write a short stroy on we will be happy to place the story on for you.

Dorsal ill PM you for your pics, they are going in a different section. Also a good time to announce that Dorsal is now the first in hopefully a long line of Sponsored CatFish Africa anglers.

Jip we are very exited about this one but there lies a lot of work ahead for us. I don't think our plan is to compete with Sealine's forum but rather work together to promote Catfish Angling in SA. That is our main goal. Call me naive but I think our Catfish's reputation belongs right up there with the other well known Catfishes and that is what we strive for.

Question: What info would you guys like to get when you look at someone else's Catfish catch? We are considering to correspond with The Bank Angler's exclusive Barbel club and as some of you might know only catches above 15 kg's qualifies for this exclusive club so we might get valuable info from this.

Skuimkop there is not really anything specific I wan to know about someones catch they should just go into more detail, not like the ones in stywe lyne, that neglect to tell all the crucial details.Something that would be very nice is a magazine in a pdf format that you can download from the website with maybe 5 articles in.

We will be doing a publication like that every 3 months or so. There certainly does need to be more detail out there. That's the only way we can all improve our catchs.

Skuimkop, some thoughts:

1. Tackle used
2. Bait and presentation (photo if possible)
3. Month and Time caught
4. Location

You can count me in!!!

Thank you for all the hard work and information that you guys provide to all our aspiring monster catfish "hunters". I have already learnt such a lot by just reading all the posts. The Team Catfish website will be a great addition to improve our knowledge of this great but undervalued native fish specie. Can't wait for the catalogue!

Keep up the great work.

Great idea as mentioned,

We seldom see pictures of bait presentation (specifically barbel fishing) in fishing magazines.

Almost like a before and after photo 1 Bait presentation vs 2 Fish caught on that bait,

And then the obvious info

Location, Time of Year, Temp, Depth, Distance etc!!

I know fisherman are also crazy about their equipment, but me personally I dont care, to be honest I get lost with all the jargon, type's of line, reels etc?  I believe its more about your end tackle and if your rod, reel and line is decent and strong enough you should land your fish!!

My pennies worth

Cheers

Tiny,
