Revealing it's secrets.

I cast this test lure just to see how it swims. Decided to use a clear resin.

Inside you can see the 2 most important aspects. Ballast and buoyancy.

This one is straight out the mould, sprews still attached.

That looks great Bennie, how is the action? Dimensions?

Question, doesn't those nose and tail rings pull out of the resina as in the pic it doesn't seem to penetrate the lure that far in on the return end?

Hi,
Well spotted. This is not the final product. The through wire is not correct but it will work just fine for testing the lure action. This is not a one off lure and I'm really testing the mould and shape here. As for action... I will test it properly later today. Size wise, 100mm long and it weighs 24 grams.

Edit: Come to think of it, that is 1,6mm wire. I actually don't think it will pull out easily on anything like small tuna, bonnies, snoek etc. Especially not with 12Lb set up.

thanks for the info Bennie. I'm looking in to start molding and this pic gives me some insight. Do you know where i could find some of this resin?

Swims very nicely. Not actually a "walk the dog" style lure but I already knew that. It's way too heavy.

But it kicks nicely. Very stable and will not roll no mater how fast or erratic I work it. It casts well and sinks with the tail slightly down. Sits just below the surface without breaking it.

There may be something here...

I cleaned it and finish it up so I can paint it to try get a fish on it...

I really need to build a test tank. But here it is as promised.

First off, note how it sinks...
