Fishing buddy / Charter needed

Hi All

I am a new member to Sealine, been reading non stop!

I have been going to Namibia ever since I can remember as the Grandparents lived down there. They have now moved down to Struisbaai...

I have been there once before but a fishing day at the 12 mile bank (I think) cost me R 900 .. I am still a student and that is way to expensive for me. I enjoy all types of fishing rock & surf, deep sea etc.. I am looking for someone around the Struisbaai area to just show me the ropes and if possible to go out to sea maybe once or twice if you have a boat. I am more than willing to share the petrol / bait costs and I have more or less all of the gear needed.

This post is in the spearfishing section, and from reading your post, I think you are looking for fishing, not diving?

If you post in the fishing section you will get a much better response.

Just a point from a spearo who also fishes, Struis has some great fishing from the side. which is a lot cheaper, if you have the gear, that is

I realised that just after posting it... My mistake!:fbash

I also want to start spearfishing, do you have to go out on a boat or is it something you can do by swimming in from the shore?

Also how much does a secondhand speargun cost that is in a decent condition? I already have a wetsuit, good fins etc..
