A spider hitch has two legs,is it advisable to use a double fig.8 to join the leader to the spider hitch.In my opinion it should be similar to joining a leader to a 2 strand bimini.

The best way to join a leader to a spider hitch is to do a Spyker knot. Trust me it's the smallest and strongest knot you'll be able to tie as long as your leader is 1mm MAX.
