Thanks bru :) It was caught at Mapelane. Very low, outgoing tide, spring low in fact. Had to wade in quite a bit to put out a decent bait. Before I could walk back to tighten up, the line went tight! Walked in about 100m to the right from where he was hooked up initially. Around 15 minutes to get him out. At one point he was stranded out on a bank, before a few big waves allowed me to get him into a deep drain and finally landed. Very nice fish indeed, but the fight of the fish took a back seat coz of the shallows...either way, he's swimming around there somewhere...I hope lol!

So on the second last day NEptune smilled upon us and the perfect conditions was there for 2:30 hours.

not jet but wil do so after mapelane this coming weekend

but at tugela i had 16 pic ups in 4 days, 3 of them were cob and the rest sharks, all on live mullet and did not land 1. burned, striped, hooks pulled open (10/0daitchy), 250 lb carbon steel bitten. 1.2mm leaders broke in half ex. got a cob of 5kg  3 shad the same size more ore less and then the big zambi. but the north westly was blowing hard and i believe in that wind.

wil be there in july again when the cob and garrick are around.

Location:
Beechwood/Blue Lagoon North Bank
Weight: unknown
Tide: Dropping
Time: about 10:30am
 conditions: sunny with slight breeze
Bait: McCarthy Pearl Jerk Minnow

We usually fish in the river near the mouth, but yesterday we got our hands on some new rods (Daiwa Megaforce) and were keen to try our luck in the surf.

There were plenty of branches and debris near the mouth so I thought my mates line was stuck when i saw him tugging on the rod - next thing the rod bent something silly and this is what came out - first throw.  ((r(e(ling

What a way to spend a day off....and the new rods are mamba too!!! Thanks to the guys at Kingfisher for their advice.  ::respekt:
