The last couple of days during and after the strong South Easter we has, some fish were manage to be caught. Most of the fish came out from the spookdraai to the plaat.
Last weekend:
Cob and Grunter came out @ Struisbaai harbor, some undersize cob in front of Nostra @ night.
During the last week some size cob were caught @ the Harbor on Harder fillet and livebait. On the plaat a 7kg cob were caught on harder fillet.
This weekend:
Cob @ Spookdraai and the brood, cob @ Harbor. Today I caught a Belman, Grunter, and cob inside the harbor in a Strong SW wind on the dropping tide with prawn.

It's a good start for this season fishing.

Hi Guys:::S

Small intro as this is my first post. Im from CT, fishing for about a year now. Enjoying it to the max::S. I hope to learn alot from this forum.

Struisbaai has been producing exceptionally well over the past 3 weeks. Kob, belman and musselcracker has been coming out fairly good.

Theres a specific spot to the right of the harbour where the crackers has been coming out almost everyday for the past 3 weeks. Most of it in the 3 - 5kg range. I was there yesterday and managed to get one for myself :wfish, but nothing spectacular. Also witnessed a guy landing one, looked about 3.5kg. And all during the day!

I was standing at this spot on saturday night on the high and had a massive pick up on prawn. It ran for almost 10 seconds before stopping. When i got to my rod and picked it up, it gave one huge jerk and OFF. When i reeled in i saw that my main line was bitten off clean. Damn, wasnt expecting something so big so was not prepared tackle wise. I was thinking spotty or a cracker on steroids lol.

From what I heard Kob and belman was biting nicely at the harbour all week. Kob was taking on prawn and Belman on worm, all at night.

Small elf in the water as well.

Tight lines

CrackerHead.
Welcome to Struisbaai fishing. The area your talking about is called the Las. Its well none for big Crackers. Congrats on your catch, your 1 better than me. I stay in the area and have not caught 1 cracker yet. The big 1 you lost could have been a big Elf  ( blou Elf ). They are none for taking prawn.
I landed on Sat. morning 03:00 am a 60 cm Grunter inside the harbour and some smaller species. Sunday afternoon 2 Grunter and a Stumpie. All on prawn.
I fish 95% of the time in and around the harbour, so next time your here give me a call.

What a warm welcome. Thanks::slr::

I will definately keep you in mind as we fish Struisbaai/Agulhas every single month when we go down for a weekend, if not then we go to stilbaai. More often Agulhas coz its closer from Cape Town. I so much want to fish the Plaat but have no idea about which spots are good for that area.

I know where the Las is. The spot I was referring to is two bays to the right of the las. I speak under correction. Theres currently a massive dead seal laying on the beach nearby, now just to the right of the dead seal! Apparently the afternoon high tide is most productive there.

Thanks again Katvis100

Hello daar.

As jy af kom kan ons tackle praat.

Groete
Chris

Yes I know the bay, its called the deerloop. The Crackers love that area. I have fished there in the past, but the rocks is no good to my bad back, so I stay clear of the rocks if need to. I like the ground to be flat under my feet.
:whispGive me a call next time your coming down and bring some Milnerton Prawns with.

Whats so special about milnerton Prawns lol??

We usually only pump there. The weekend past we pumped at Hermanus, prawns are coming out easy enough there, just a bit on the smallish side.

One other thing, whenever we come to Agulhas we battle to find red bait. Always just empty pods lying around lol.

Gaan jou nog 'n slag saam neem see toe.

Geniet die die visvangste!

Groete

Dis altyd so.
Ek raak lelik see siek na my brein besering 6 jaar gelede.

Saterdag oggend se 1 was net 60cm.
Cheers
Chris

LOL!

Ai ou. 'n Mielliebom in die see?
Dis so 3 stopstrate verby. Draai liks af to by die Garage, draai regs.

Cheers
Chris

Groete Werner

HY IS KLEIN MAAR MYNE!!!
