Yes sir, you are unto a good thing. I also introduced my wife a couple of years ago, but it's a bit difficult with two boys too small to fish at the moment.

And yes there are other women at the club.

@ Mark,

I've been neutered many times but they just keep growing back......lol! :walk:walk

We can organize socials all the time, wherever, whenever. You probably will never get a full house every time. I just thought it would be nice to take my dad on fathers day and get to meet some guys.......plenty time for other arangements! I for one am not patient when it comes to waiting for the fishing time though!

hi guys. It was most entertaining to read through all the posts...had a good chuckle and have saved the permission slips!

Guys, is there any particular times that one would fish in the flyfishing venue...or is it anytime during the day?

Sorry of my questions sound silly, i am a novice at flyfishing and dont consistently fish enough to get going.

Any assistance or advice/crisiticism would be appreciated.

Hey SpongebobSteve,

Great meeting you yesterday. I do agree with the whole day thing but yesterday I unfortunately couldn't stay for the later afternoon, which seemed to be alot more active. Got into crap because I was already late (the wife!).

I do find the R100 rod fee a little steep but would really like it if we could  be charged a half day fee, you know, for fishing later afternoons or mornings?

Hi Gents

Maryke and I got bored Saturday afternoon and decided to hit the on the Garsfontein road. The place is well managed and stocked with about 4/5dams. The dams aren't very big but the water was clean & the fish where big!

I Managed to get a bite on a white death, but the fish where on a hunger strike. I would cast the fly just past the fish and strip it back slowly. They would swim closer inspect the fly and then just ignore it. After about 5 fly changes I ended up with the white death as the fish showed the most interest in the fly but could only get one fish to commit, which I subsequently lost because I yanked the fly out of its mouth. "Viskoors is 'n bliksem"

Anyway, saw some golden trout cruising and tied on a DDD. The next hour was spent stalking the fish and spooking them. Until I laid down a perfect cast about 2m in front of one of these jewels. She move forward inspected the fly. Circled around it like a dog lying down on a new bed and finally sipped it down. I counted to two and set the hook.

She gave ma great fight on my 4# with massive jumps and a couple of buss runs before finally coming to the net. My first goldey on a dry fly sight fishing.... This gents is what memories are made of.
