i have caught the all the biggest fish ever from my boat which is moored in the yacht mole opposite the fuel pumps. Some of the fish bust my line as they were too big to reel out. There are big fish in between the boats moored in the yacht mole.

Tell me about it.....!!!

I remember when I got my first salt water fly rod/outfit, and decide to practice casting a small popper down at the base of the yaught mole, between the moored boats. I got smashed by a huge Garrick(12-15Kg) as I was about to lift the popper at the end of a retrieve.

Needless to say I couldn't get it to take another popper thereafter.

Cheers

It snapped my leader.

It was daytime, cant remember what the tide/wind etc it was.

As I said I was there more to test different lines and casting tecnique with poppers.

A popper is a mini-plug lure, not much bigger than a large fly, used mainly for Kingfish on fly rods. It is a woodden, coloured lure with or without a feather or two for adornment. When retrieving, it makes a bit of a thrashing (popping) action on the surface of the water.
