Hey guys.
 
I’m keen to start Artlure fishing and have a few questions.
-          Are there any clubs in the JHB area I can join, and if so, which is the best one?
-          Do you need a boat to join these clubs?

There are a few in JHB - where are you based in JHB?

There is a club that is centurian based (I would reccomend the Pretoria clubs - as they are the oldest and by far the most experinced - not to say that you could change them-;)).

Also you will tend to find most clubs will fish North of JHB and Pretoria although saying that they do fish the vaal.

Have you got a boat - this is a key aspect to artlure fishing.

Maybe you should come along for a ride with me on a club outing to see what it is all about........

Sorry Elapid just reread your post.

Usually there is always invariably someone who can't make it and then somebody is always looking for a boat pardner - so Sometimes you can get away with not having a boat.

In my club we have quite a few JHB based anglers hence the reason for asking.

We have members in Kempton park which I believe is not too far from Benoni maybe you can catch a ride with them.

The season is winding down - stops end of April but we organise socials throughout the winter to cold water destinations such as Dullstroom and there is a trip to the Zambezi in August.

PTA clubs are fine, its not that far :)

Yeah, i figured that I would need a boat, (maybe one day when i get a decent job ill be able to afford one :D )

I would love to come along for a ride with you on a club outing, so i can see what its all about and learn a thing or two. Just let me know when :)

There's one on the 18th April - I'll try and find sumbody whom is fishing 1 up and try and organise you a ride - not sure I am going to make it - fishing nationals and protea trials the whole week prior to that weekend.
