Hi Guys

Any diesel fundies out there , My colt 2.8 tdi  2001 club cab, starts perfectly in the mornings but cuts out 200/300m down the road it seems its starving of fuel?? I get out and reprime the diesel primer pump till its hard and she starts again , and for the rest of the day no problems with her??

What can be causing the problem , just serviced with new air oil filters and oil. It started this problem some weeks back even with the old fuel filter hence I changed it?

Im cash strapped to take it to a stealership is not an option , I doubt its the diesel pump as it should be giving me problems the rest of the day, nor the injectors all 4 wont just fail at once?

Thanks to make any suggestions that can possibly help me locate the problem.

Cheers Kirk.

i had exactly the same syptoms with my Mahindra SUV....the filter cups were slightly loose....air was leaking into the line and the fuel was running back to the tank during the night....

tightened the cups and problem solved.....

hope this helps....

I'm definitely no mechanic but I once had an Isuzu that had a similar problem, turned out to be a non return valve on the fuel line, the vehicle would start with the fuel in the engine but then die because the fuel in the line had run back into the tank.

Worth checking.
