I recently tested out this trace, because I find that fluorocarbon usually twists around the sinker line. This trace drastically reduced the amount of line twist, especially near the swivel where most of the twists usually occur.

Half the hook snoot is regular mono line (or leader line) and the other half fluorocarbon. I use the double uni-knot (with 4 twists on each side) because it has not let me down so far.

If anyone has any other ideas please share.

They twist because your hook trace is longer than your sinker trace. That said , I know of a lot of successful anglers fishing with traces such as this quite successfully.
