Ahoy fellow anglers.

I am a dummie when it comes to circles and I am wondering if someone could please give some advice regarding circle hooks. Some of my questions are:

Are you allowed to use a rod stand since people told me that while fishing with circles, you need to stand with rod in your hand?

How many hooks must be on the trace, again, some people use only one hook while others uses two?

What to do when you feel a byte: start reeling in or give your bait “free spool” to allow the fish to swallow the bait.

Thanks

Christo

Of course you are allowed to use rod stand! I do when fishing with circles, mainly because I become a little over eager and tend to forget NOT TO STRIKE!!

I believe from what I have read that one circle on a trace is more thsn enough. Also when the fish takes off let it run and slowly tighten your drag. The extra tension should be enough for the hook to find a spot in the corner of the fishes mouth.

This is what I think with my very limited knowledge. I'm sure the more experienced guys will give you more info!

my rod is in the rod stand, and the drag is set not to light, it helps with pulling the hook tight in the corner of the mouth.remeber to use snell knot for the hook, entering from the front, and exiting towards the front.
