That is the wrong trace and way to swim a Diamond especially in the mtunzini area.

1- having 1 hook in each wing is a recipe for disaster cos when a zambi eats the one wing its very possible that another zambi will eat the other so now you hook two at the same time and its game over!

2- the stopper ring as a 3 way is far two weak and pops same time-rather made a piano wire ring of no.14

3- why cut the tail and barb off? by doing this you waste time by having the diamond out the water for to long and its totally unnecessary.

4- the hooks are way too small, 12/0 up to a 16/0 is big enough and the problem with these hooks is not the size but the gauge of the steel when trying to set the hooks when the zambi is 300m out to sea and the stretch in your nylon makes it very diff for the hooks to penetrate the zambi. 10/0 just straighten when applying big pressure on zambi's over 200kg

5-the best trace in my experience of catching zambi's on diamonds in the mtunzini area is:

2 x 14/0 tuna hooks tyed back to back (I put apoxy over the wire where it joins to my hooks) with number 14 wire plated with 2 strands of 2 meters to a exta large marlin swivel, from that I tie 4 meters of 200lb carbon coated wire to another marlin swivel and the my leader of 2mm nylon of 3meter with a trinidad 50 with 0.55 double x nylon

I use double plate instead of triple cos i find that it slides through the zambi's teeth and does'nt get caught between them when you use nylon coated wire.
