So what is the biggest you have caught whilst buddy casting, cranking, popping etc?

This excludes a calling rod, trolliing and dipping...

What you say?

BUMP!!!!!

Come on guys, where are you all?

My biggest was 6kg on popper, 5.5kg on buddy casting.

I think Ryan probably has the most bragging rights with Mona Lisa of about 22kgs on a Salmo Slider.

What i want to try and establish is whether it is an effective way to get the big boys...

I am currently fishing a small dam where there are easily 20kg cats, but how to get them is the question.

I don't think the big boys waste their energy eating bird poop....

I lost a 1,5m cat while fishing weeds with a texas rigged zoom lizard for bass. Best fight I ever had!

Two guys casting at a spot over and over, i always say try and keep it within a 50cm circle. You will use slow sinking lures in this case.

The barbel come and look whats falling in the water and grab what falls next.

the one guy casts and about 2 seconds after the other guy, let your lure sink for about 5 sec depending water depth and bring it in and cast on the same spot again. Repeat atleast 15 times

Laat my nou wonder of jy enige jan rap en sy maat is... :-D

100% African, the idea of buddy casting is not to confuse the fish. If two guys work the same spot side by side then when the fish comes up it doesn't know which way the food is, it usually leaves after a short while and both anglers miss the opportunity. Buddy casting lures the fish to one spot and chances are good eiter one of the anglers can get it, like DWB indicated.
