Hi Azcoza.

AquaVia Closed their gates afew months back - only to day visitors from what I hear. I phoned them to make a booking in March of this year, and they said to me, they are closing. So yea :'(

Looked like a great spot to fish...

Aqua has always been good to us en there are quite a few topics on sealine. Just search Aqua Via and you will find lots of info. Please report back once you have been there.

Cheers

I've camped right below the ablutions & had an okay session, definitely worth targeting cats there, platties worked well for me. Carp were a little shy on the bite that weekend. Also landed one-two yellows. This very thread has alot of info about spots & bait if you read it from the start.

Hello people I'm thinking of going to Aqua Via this weekend but I'm not sure if its still too early for fishing, should I wait for early October when the weather is a lot warmer?

Well last i heard, the flow rate is healthy, and as of the 13th September. the temp was up to 15.2 degrees... Personally I would wait a little longer. But it depends on how long you can wait to get your lines wet : D

Hi THere.

See this is an old post but is this place still cool?
We use to use rus a biekie n loved the plenty fish there, but their prices have hiked so bad that we cant afford to go there and they are no longer allowing tents rite by the water.. a little bit of a bummer...

Does aqua via have electricity by the water side??
How much is it to camp there?

Going with the wife, power is a must...

Or if not can anybody recomend a place we can go thats semmi affordable wit some good fishing?

:thankie

Sorry man, Aqua Via does not have power points. Rus n Bietjie used to be reasonably priced, now it's become a whole lot more commercial, & gets packed, not to mention the snags at certian spots, I'd give it a miss too. If you're looking for a place with power points, this late in the year, good luck. Aqua Via has clean ablutions, long drops further away from the ablutions, but not much else.....the fishing is good though.

Thanx for the info..

We decided as lank spots dont have power we'll just rough it.
We decided on Tago, seems like its a nice place n R60 pp not too bad..
You know if its any good? Heard some good reviews on the place.
Any sweet bait goes hey?

And fish heads or platanas for the babel, chicken livers/hearts?? -The wife has an itch that needs scratching for a massive barbel..

Any other advise?

Thanx so much again!
The advise is highly appreciated...:fst:

Tago is a good choice, but go & see for yourself :-) The usual Vaaldam baits work there - sweet flavours, but dont forget the earthworms, & try some stronger flavours like garlic as well. For Cats, grassy heads are probably the best; I havent caught anything bigger than 7kg, but I wasnt rowing, so for the bigger ones I've heard distance will do. Havent tried platties or livers/hearts, but I wouldnt rule them out. Have fun :-)
