Guys, I think all of you are missing the whole point of Die Antwoord....

From start to finish, Die Antwoord is a SPOOF... its sattire.... its the Naked Gun of music in SA....

I don't understand why or how you guys can get upset by this, and not see it for what it is... I'm not a huge hip hop fan by any means, and not much into Afrikaans music either, but what these guys have done, and how well they have presented it, well enough in fact that its convinced all of you that they are serious, when in fact they are a spoof outfit, shows how well they have done it...

The art direction, phtography, and styling is incredible... maybe I just have a slightly different appreciation of the art I guess...

Anyway, certainly no reason for any of us to get heated, either you love them or you don't, and that is the beauty of our so called democracy, we are allowed to do either, and have a laugh and a beer about or differing opinions...

Each to their own..

This is my only problem...

Don't stand on a pedestal and claim to be the image of the new south african culture, the culmination of white, coloured zulu, xhosa etc as he does at the start of the song....

Even worse then get a worldwide audience that now suddenly grabs on to this assuming this is truely the image of the new south african culture.

I have no problem if the chap claims to be the image of his own culture with the 3 around him.... but he sure as hell ain't the image of me and my culture...

HAHA, they have an attitude that goes with there music, and the greatest thing is they dont care what anyone thinks, and that is another reason why they are getting so much attention.

In their one interview yo landi says "if you dont like Die Antwoord its probably because you're a p#$%" hahahahaha, you gotto love it or hate it!! Or hate that you love it!!!

Take a look at how well all their stuff is produced and marketed, from their photos on their website, to their music videos, much better than any other SA bands music videos, very well produced!! I think some company in amsterdam does their stuff!!

Come on guys, same as Basic Instinct it was not aimed at primary school kids. It is fantastically produced, and has gone fully viral.

Not my kind of music at all, but I do appreciate the artistic effort that must have gone into it. Look at all the stuff outside the actual songs, they have create a full package from scratch, and believe me, it's polished!

On a more funny, enjoyable note, have you guys checked Jack Parrow's "Jy dink jy is cooler as ekke"? Brilliant stuff!

As a rockspider I love seeing this stuff, it means a little minory language is still very much alive and kicking!

I've met him though my cousin, and again, he is a normal oke, but a brilliant artist that built a whole persona and style from scratch. Respekt.

The only reason they get so many hits is because it ***!
Kind of like an ugly dog, everyone points at it and says "check that thing". Just like what's happening here.

Johnny here's my example... that specific die antwoord song... like i said i think it's pretty far from an image of SA's blended culture...

Jack Parow... Brackenfell Boys Choir... i've very few times in my life found a song that so accurately describes going out to a pub by yourself in certain areas.

Hate them or love them, they are getting huger than any South African band/group has ever hoped to be!! The right people are giving them alot of attention!! I used to think it was *** until i listened a bit more and now i think its brilliant!!

They are everywhere, from new york to london, to SA, they are in all the right magazines etc. its undeniable, people can can say they *** until they blue in the face, but their opinion doesnt count!!

Give them credit where credit is due, they are doing something totally different from anything that SA or the music industry has ever seen and its working for them!!
