Hi guys,

I recently bought a new mask (Omer Alien) and gave it the usual treatment (rubbing with toothpaste, warm soapy wash) but it keeps fogging up.

Is their something else I must do? I've also tried saliva just before I go into the water, but it keeps fogging up.

What are my options or should I just repeat above techniques?

Any help will be appreciated!

Cressi anti fog mask spray. Nothing beats it. Mine and my wifes masks are both different masks , we spray this stuff in and out and never have a problem.

Get some Benzien (spelling??) and apply as you would the toothpaste, rinse, then apply the toothpaste to rid the Benzien flavour and your problems are solved permanently.

What has worked for me sometimes is burning the lens black with a candle (inside), then clean it off.  You can use petrol based stuff such as Benzine.  I found Clean Green helped with all the other stuff like toothpaste.  I got it right recently, but I tried so many different things, I'm not sure what worked :)

It also improves wiht use, so take it along on a few dives, put it in salt water, then leave it out to dry if you still have an old mask you are using.

Cheers,

Tony

I Also have an omer alien... it took alot of scrubbing with toothpaste before it was right. Scrub it, then breathe into mask, if it fogs up, repeat scrub, until its clear when you breathe out on it.

Leave the toothpaste inside the mask as a paste for an hour or 2.

Then get yourself some "FogOff" - fantastic product I used this December for Scuba. Works a lot better than 'Sandton slime' - also smells alot better!! :SSS

I have a mask that fogs up a bit but i keep some toothpaste with me and just spread a little on the mask before I walk down to the beach... rinse and remember to wet your face before you put the mask on and you will be good to go...

Try taking some sea weed or kelp and rub the inside of your mask. Works like a bomb for me.

Wow!

Thanx for the great response guys, it seems there a lot of options that I haven't tried yet.

Will try everything and what works.
