The Ray was an Eagleray and gives a good account of itself on light tackle heading off at speed- whilst releasing they look at you with these deep brown eyes as if to say "what the hell do you think you are doing.....?!"...its kinda weird 😊

Was a great weekend, great vibe, there was only one fishable day, being Sunday. Contended/persevered with a moderate swell, choppy conditions and a constant 10kts W and brought home the bacon....well at least some bacon

To Fred and company. These are modest comments for what only can be described as a complete and utter ass whipping of kayak vs ski boat. The "stock fish derby" is the eastern cape's premier competition and has been running for approximately 30 years if not mistaken. This year was the first year that the format was changed to incorporate additional species due to the declining stock fish numbers. To summarise, 70 boats entered, +- 250anglers, and the biggest fish caught came from a ski close to the launch site. Unplayable!! Well done guys!! That was a 50k effort right there despite the end result on the lucky dip final prize. If there was any doubt prior to the comp on where skis feature in the fishing fraternity pecking order . The standings should be very clear from now on. Salute!!
