Nice! Roughly whereabout was this? Hopefully False Bay where it will mean some coppers exist.

Not often we get to see pics of fish below the surface.

Nice pics !

I have serious doubts this would be False Bay,but it would be nice if it were and there were Red Stumps and Steenbras like this making a comeback to the Bay.

Those tail look to be of a decent size too ..................

Patrick: Definitely not False Bay, but was on the Overberg coastline, not going to say more than that...

Capespearo: Yip those 'tail were all 15kg plus...

Tkei: The copper I estimated to be somewhere around 20kg... the picture doesn't do it justice as there is nothing else to give it scale, but it was a brute, certainly the biggest I've seen.

That pic with the tail , what are the three fish in the right hand  bottom corner with the black and grey barred pattern?
This makes me lus! conditions looking awesome for our area this weekend with spring tides and clear flat conditions. I think Im going to look for that 15 kilo cracker I saw last weekend at eerstes!I heard okes are catching tail and geelbek off the rocks just north of eerstes.

Gallieman, all I can see is Yellowtail !!!!  :wfish

After forcing my eyes off that part of the photo, the 3 fish are Red Romans.

aha, now comparing that to the next photo I realize the romans have the same pattern but failed to see that the pic I was refering to was not taken with a flash.

Did the copper hound you at all, heard stories of them being quite aggressive. Any truth in those ...

Not at all, he was curious and followed me around for most of the dive but was certainly not aggressive...

Cudos to you for not putting a spear in it.

Ja, rather leave it for a commercial to catch.:fbash

I think it may have been on SCUBA and one is not allowed to spear with any artificial breathing apparatus, other than a snorkel.
