Myl 108 is about 95km North of Henties Bay and we found our best fishing even further north, in the area around the wreck of the Winston - as well as the stretch up to the border of the Torra Bay region.

We enjoyed exceptionally good fishing (by S.A. standards) as the four of us pulled more than 70 fish during our stay.
Species:
Cob
Steenbras
Spierhaai
Spotted gully sharks
A little brown spotty sharky
St Josephs
Galjoen
Lessers.
Barbel, Barbel, Barbel & barbel.
Maybe some more species.

We all recorded several new species each, yet many were small, they were still identifyable

1st fish of the trip went to Mrs H on her Birthday - well done honey.

Local knowledge and hours at the water always gives you an advantage:
Well done Sarah de Jager - You and Simen are solid fishermen and great folks:
Sarah with a Steenie, somewhere between 6 and 7 kg.

We also had the great opportunity of meeting some more Sealiners:
Mrs Spyker, Ants etc.
Even during our visit to Walvisbay, we met Oceon Hunter who unfortunately got his calender wrong and double booked his wife and daughters birthday on our visiting weekend.
Some things are more important than fishing and we are looking forward to the next chance Gareth - thanks for your help with our arrangements that weekend.

We had an awesome time in Namibia - the people were great, the fishing was great, the country is exceptional - what an experience.

With respect to the fish:
More than 70 were caught, some sixty were fished and released and the rest were hook and cook.
Cob, Steenbras and Galjoen make for great eating.

This was a tough holiday, a long drive, extreme climate, some toxic Tassenberg, long hours at the water and more - but worth every cent, and every ounce of effort.

Go if you can, it is where dreams are made to come true.
