Barbel in Roodepoort

I have been fishing Skinners Dam for a while now, and it consistantly produces big Barbel. It is behind Westgate.

Who here has fished Skinners before?

A use day old chicks, platies and chicken livers. My PB there is 10kg

Did not know that there is a dam there,are there any bass?Do you need a permit?Can you give me directions?Thx,Vernon.

Good afternoon Vernon,

Yes, there are bass, but I have not seen any monsters come out of there.

It is right behind Westgate Mall. You will find a SASOL garage there and the lake is behind it.

 

Have you fished Northcliff? It has a couple of nice bass

Thanks,Haven't fished Northcliffe dam.Will give Skinners a try this weekend.Still discovering the dams around Gauteng.

went to a wedding at Ruimsig staduim, at the venue i could see the whole of that dam and it was busy, but don't know how to get there, any one been there? and is there costs invloved?

:::S yes been there not to bad need to be there early gets full, i think its  R20 or something not alot ... . yes you need to enter from the other side of the staduim (turn right by the circle by the staduim ..  We are trying florida lake now but not much luck..

You see, now i feel bad, I stay in Roodepoort, Discovery, and i have never been to any of the local dams around Roodepoort, always travel 100km+.:fbash

the only problem is that i work at Tiger wheel and Tyre, we work 6 days a week, so sundays are the only day that's open for me,
