Hi guys I wanted to start a new topic re tomorrows comp. Please remember to be at the parking area before 6:50 max. I am picking up Beach_Drifter at 5:30 (if hes not in jail!) and will probably be there at 6ish. Look for a white Toyota Hilux with Galvanized Railings on the back. Dress warmly as we are looking at a temperature of 9 degrees tomorrow morning at 6am. Donations of OBS will be gladly accepted.

Hi guys!!! After the shocking defeat of the WP (Nkalevuki you XXXXXXX!!!!) I am happy to announce our first competition for the Sealine Social Edible Club Western Cape was a huge success. We started the day with 20 anglers participating and some good catches were made. The day started with no wind and the water colour not too bad. 6:30 everybody had their cards and lines-in was at 7am. ****Galjoen**** and his crew of DJP and Hannes101 was of to a good start landing some early fish at the Pipe on Maccassar.Cob51cm and a white stumpnose of 32cm As the day progressed , the dreaded South wind came up and spoiled the conditions a bit. 2 Non Sealine anglers too our right hooked 3 Bronzies ,but could not land any of them (Burnoff,bite-off and wind-on leader pulling out) . I caught a 46cm cobbie and released it. Beach_Drifter plucked a cobbie from his mothers boob(25cm) and also returned it. A few good sized Elf (shad) was landed and ,I am glad to say,was also released. Loomisx5 caught the biggest(longest) fish for the day which was a cob of 81,5cm.TriniD got a White Stump of 41,5cm(a bus!!) The late afternoon saw the South wind pick up a bit and that gave the water some more colour. Boskabeljou and Killer Strepie by now joined ****Galjoen**** and crew and that meant all SSEC_WC members were fishing in a row about 1km long. Strepie,Marthin and Jason landed some fish but was not size. The sad story of the day was old Beach_Drifter who had his slide out for about 3 hours and was bitten of on his 1mm leader. Sorry China I really feel for you!! It would have been his first Bronzie.Chin up Broetjie!! Next time! Sakkie7116's VW Caddy almost got flooded by the waves, but, he moved it in time!!OH yes, Loomisx5 please tell us what happened to your Daiwa?????????? I will post the points tomorrow night and I am sure the guys will post their own photos! All in all it was a brilliant day and would like all the rest to join us for the next one!
Cheers
Brian

Brian if that Trinidad of yours weren't that big I would have bought it if it was for sale. Time to do some shopping. I will open my Saltist 50 tomorrow. By the looks of it the clutch lever or spring has hooked out or broke. END of my sliding for the day. At the end of the day the cob made up for it. Caught 5 released 5. One size four undersize. Can't wait for the next comp. Luck was on my side today. Will try and post pics later.
