Dankie ___________________________________________________________ To all SSEC members Please see attached latest updated Constitution, Rules and Species List dated 26 March 2010. Please ignore previously posted documents. The contents of this document applies with immediate effect. The amendment refers to Item 7.1. in the Rules which defines the Club's geographic area for competition purposes. This item was originally posted in a Decisions document dated 12 September 2009 that has since been removed from this thread. This amendmend is therefore simply a correction for purposes of completeness. Hi SSEC:WC Members and all interested Sealiners Please take note of the Club’s Members meeting in preparation of the Club’s competition on 20 March 2010 at Pearly Beach Date: Tuesday 16 March 2010 Time: 19H00 Venue: The Polo & Hunt Club, Durbanville Please confirm if you will be able to attend. Indien u enige items daartoe wil byvoeg, pm my asseblief. Hi All I’m pleased to post the decisions taken at last night’s SSEC:WC members meeting. 1. Thirteen members and one guest attended. A number of members did submit their apologies for not attending. Several, however, did not. We need you to attend, guys. We need your inputs to improve the Club. 2. Logistical arrangements: Pearly Beach competition 20 March 2010: 2.1. Fishing area; De Kelders to De Damme – Hannes101 has already posted Google maps elsewhere on Sealine. 2.2. Competition Secretary: Boskabeljou (Jaco) has been appointed for this competition. 2.3. Start and end times of competition: Start: 05:45 – 06:00. End (way-in): 16:00 – 16:30. (No grace after 16:30 and any late submissions will be disqualified). NOTE: Members who do not make the morning starting time (06:00) will have grace until 07:00 to collect their Score Cards from the Competition Secretary, wherever he might be. Late-comers can contact him on his Cell (084 247 0688) to establish his whereabouts and to collect their Score cards BEFORE 07:00 from him. Please note that he WILL NOT issue Score cards to members who do not meet the final cut-off time of 07:00. Any members who do not meet this grace period shall be disqualified from the competition. They may, however, participate in the day’s fishing on a non-competitive basis and attend the weigh-in event, thus earning 15 points for attending the weigh-in event. 2.4. Venue for issuing and return of Score Cards: Parking area at the Pearly Beach Angling and Recreational Club on the road to Pearly Beach. Facility is on the road to Pearly Beach, some 1½ to 2 km from turn-off from main road, at speed bumps in road. 2.5. After party: Arrangements will be confirmed but it will probably be at the same venue as item 2.4. 2.6. Renewal of Members’ angling permits: In line with the Club’s Constitution and stated policies, members will be expected to show their valid angling permits before the Competition Secretary provides them with their Score Cards. No exceptions will be made. Members are also urged to send the details of their latest valid angling permits to our Treasurer, Seawiid to update the Club’s records. 2.7. Accommodation: Anyone still experiencing problems in this regard can contact Marthin. He might have space available. 3. General: 3.1. Additional Club events: Galjoen and Killer Strepie currently planning first “Galjoen clinic” It will include recommended traces, tackle, bait presentation and practical demonstrations. Time and place to be confirmed. It will probably be open to all interested Sealiners. It was also decided that non-competitive fishing outings will be arranged. This could include venues outside the Club’s demarcated competition areas. One suggested venue was Witsand. Craig knows about an ideal venue near Witsand with sufficient accommodation to accommodate all the Club members. He will pursue this possibility and report back. 3.2. ‘Cleaning beaches’ initiative: Marthin reported that he is still waiting for further communications in this regard from Sealine Admin. In the meantime all Sealiners and specifically SSEC:WC members are urged to clean-up fishing spots wherever they encounter rubbish and to post photo’s of such clean-ups on Sealine. 3.3. Five Species Competion, Struisbaai: SSEC:WC did not enter teams. Due to circumstances very few Sealiners attended. 3.4. Future Competition dates and venues: Dates and venues where identified for April to July 2010. Please see updated ‘Competition Dates and Venues’ (attached). 3.5. Sponsors: One or two suppliers have shown interest in sponsoring the Club’s events. Marthin is still negotiating with them. In the meantime all members are urged to seek additional sponsors and donations to the Club. 3.6. Sealine Birthday bash: The annual Sealine Birthday bash will probably take place during October and will be at the Hole in the Wall again. Western Cape Sealiners are urged to attend this year. A number of SSEC:WC members have already indicated that they are interested. It is considered to arrange that those interested drive together to save costs. To be further discussed nearer to the time. Kaspaas Club Secretary Attachment: Competition dates.doc (Downloaded 20 times) Last edited on Wed Mar 17th, 2010 02:47 pm by kaspaas |

A hearty welcome to the new guys that attended last night. Hope to see you join the Club soon. 2. Logistical arrangements: Gordons Bay to Kleinmond competition 24 April 2010: 2.1. Fishing area: Gordons Bay (Old harbour’s long wall) to Kleinmond. 2.2. Competition Secretary: Meesterbeer (Ruan Burger) has been appointed for this competition. 2.3. Start and end times of competition: Start: 05:45 – 06:00. End (way-in): 15:00 – 15:30. (No grace after 15:30 and any late submissions will be disqualified). NOTE: Members who do not make the morning starting time (06:00) will have grace until 07:00 to collect their Score Cards from the Competition Secretary, wherever he might be. Late-comers can contact him on his Cell (079 727 3243) to establish his whereabouts and to collect their Score cards BEFORE 07:00 from him. They may, however, participate in the day’s fishing on a non-competitive basis and attend the weigh-in event, thus earning 15 points for attending the weigh-in event. 2.4. Venue for issuing Score Cards: BP Garage at fork opposite Hendon Park camping area, Gordons Bay. 2.5. Return of Score Cards: Parking area at entrance to Harmony Park camping area, Gordons Bay. 2.6. After party: To be confirmed at weigh-in but provisionally indicated as Harmony Park camping area, Gordons Bay. 2.7. Renewal of Members’ angling permits: The Club’s Treasurer confirmed that all members had provided him with their valid Fishing Permits. 3. General: 3.1. Additional Club events: Galjoen and Killer Strepie are to conduct a “Galjoen clinic” It will include recommended traces, tackle, bait presentation and practical demonstrations. Time and place to be confirmed within the next month but will not clash with other events of the Club. It was decided that it will be open to all interested Sealiners and outside persons. Persons that attend will be asked to make a voluntary contribution towards the Club’s funds. 3.2. ‘Cleaning beaches’ initiative: Marthin reported that he is still waiting for further communications in this regard. It appears that the parties that had initiated this venture have since been quiet. It was therefore decided that the Club will proceed with this initiative on its own. Kaspaas undertook to make contact with local media for exposure. In the meantime all Sealiners and specifically SSEC:WC members are urged to clean-up fishing spots wherever they encounter rubbish and to post photo’s of such clean-ups on Sealine. 3.3. Pearly Beach competition feedback: It was generally agreed that this was one of our best outings, albeit without much fish being caught on the day. The Secretary (Kaspaas) reported that he had written a letter of thanks to the Chairman of the Pearly Beach Angling Club whose club facilities we used. That Club indicated that they found our approach in terms of catch and release very interesting and would be interested to compete against us at some time in the future. This was generally accepted and Management was tasked to pursue this further. 3.4. Sponsors: Two suppliers have shown interest in sponsoring the Club’s events. Marthin reported that T-Line Pro CC. has agreed to sponsor the Club’s monthly competition. Similarly Wikus reported that Alpha Pro Fishing Specialists has made a contribution in the form of R500 worth of Gift Vouchers. Club members are urged to support both sponsors whenever they procure fishing tackle. The two sponsors will also be provided with publicity at Club events. Another sponsor, Bennie Jordaan has indicated that he would present the Club with a custom made wooden lure with special inscription made on it as first prize to the Monthly Competition winner. 3.5. Sealine Birthday bash: The annual Sealine Birthday bash will take place during November and will be at the Hole in the Wall again. Western Cape Sealiners are urged to attend this year. A number of SSEC:WC members have already indicated that they are interested. Mobi Dick (Nico) announced that he has accommodation available for 6 to 8 persons. Interested members should contact him in this regard. 3.6. Inter-Sealine events outside the Club’s area: Although no new developments have been reported, this item will be retained on the agenda for future meetings. 3.7. Improved publicity for the Club – photos and reports: It was felt that not enough is being done to promote the Club’s activities. It was therefore decided that all Club members should make a point of taking photo’s during events such as the Club’s competitions. It was also decided that members should forward all such photo’s and reports to ***Galjoen*** (Wikus), who will be responsible to post it with the rest of the Competition reports. 3.8. Angola trip: Sealine Admin has announced a fishing trip to Angola during July 2010. Members have been asked to consider going. Kaspaas and Hannes101 have already indicated that they are seriously considering going. The organizer, Simen has indicated that he would post more information in this regard on Sealine in the very near future. Kaspaas Club Secretary ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hi All I’m pleased to post the decisions taken at last night’s SSEC:WC members meeting. 1. Eleven existing members, two new members and one guest attended. A number of members did submit their apologies for not attending. Several, however, did not. We need you to attend, guys. We need your inputs to improve the Club. 2. At the meeting it was decided that the venue for this coming Saturday, 15 May 2010 will be changed due to the distance and costs involved to go and fish Cape Point for only a couple of hours due to most members wanting to watch the rugby. The Cape Point competition is therefore swapped with the Blouberg / Melkbos competition but with an extended fishing area. 2.1. New Fishing area; Milnerton Light House to the fence at Koeberg Power Station. 2.2. Competition Secretary: Marthin has been appointed for this competition. 2.3. Start and end times of competition: Start: 06:45 – 07:00. End (way-in): 14:30 – 15:00. (No grace after 15:00 and any late submissions will be disqualified). NOTE: Members who do not make the morning starting time (07:00) will have grace until 08:00 to collect their Score Cards from the Competition Secretary, wherever he might be. Late-comers can contact him on his Cell (082 380 0025) to establish his whereabouts and to collect their Score cards BEFORE 08:00 from him. Please note that he WILL NOT issue Score cards to members who do not meet the final cut-off time of 08:00. Any members who do not meet this grace period shall be disqualified from the competition. They may, however, participate in the day’s fishing on a non-competitive basis and attend the weigh-in event, thus earning 15 points for attending the weigh-in event. 2.4. Venue for issuing of Score Cards: Parking area at the Milnerton Light House. Venue for return of Score Cards: Derde Steen. 2.5. After party: No specific arrangements have been made due to most members wanting to get to wherever they are going to watch the rugby. If some of you however wish to get together please make your own arrangements. 3. General: 3.1. Additional Club events: It was envisaged by Galjoen to have the “Galjoen Clinic” during one of the competitions, but due to the next competition being at Cape Point which is not suitable for the clinic and time running out fast the clinic will have to be held as a separate event. Galjoen made a firm commitment that he would provide us with a date and venue by next week at the latest. Once the date has been finalised further information in this regard will be posted. It was also decided that non-competitive fishing outings will be arranged. This could include venues outside the Club’s demarcated competition areas. 3.2. ‘Cleaning beaches’ initiative: As it is now definitely winter Marthin has indicated that this initiative must stand over until the summer and will be removed from the agenda for now. In the meantime all Sealiners and specifically SSEC:WC members are urged to clean-up fishing spots wherever they encounter rubbish and to post photo’s of such clean-ups on Sealine. 3.3. April competition feedback: All members present agreed that it was a very enjoyable day and some even suggested that we look at ending future competitions earlier to ensure a nice social get together afterwards. 3.4. Sponsors: Kaspaas has concluded an agreement with CORAL WETSUITS whereby they will give 15% discount on custom made fishing wetsuits (Farmer John) with effect from 1 July 2010. The normal price will be R 850.00 for S – XL and R 1 000.00 for XXL and bigger while SSEC: WC member’s prices will be R 722.50 for S – XL and R 850 for XXL and bigger. Should you wish to acquire one of these wetsuits please request a letter confirming your membership of SSEC: WC should we not have issued you with a membership card. Marthin confirmed that the first lure trophy has been finished and posted to him and that it should reach him by Thursday. The colour scheme of the second one has been agreed upon and manufacturing will begin shortly. Should anyone have some inputs in this regard (Once they have seen the trophy) please make contact with Marthin. Wikus indicated that Alpha Pro appreciated the exposure that we gave them at the previous competition and have posted / will post the photos on their website. They are also willing to provide future sponsorships, but due to it being winter business has slowed down. So guys come on – put in the effort and go and support them in Brackenfell. 3.5. Sealine Birthday bash: Mobi Dick is still awaiting feedback from Homie on the accommodation issue before he can make bookings and let other members know what the situation is. As soon as feedback is received information will be placed on the site to get a group together to attend the bash. Marthin will also try and get Homie to speed up his response. 3.6. New members: As there have been a number of enquiries from potential new members it necessitated the meeting to re-look the tariffs payable for joining the club during a year. It was approved by the meeting that the following structure should apply – Joining during the first 6 months of the year i.e. July to December = Full fee of R 150.00 payable. Joining during the next 4 months of the year i.e. January to April = Half the fee (R 75-00) payable. Joining during the last 2 months of the year i.e. May and June = Full fee of R 150.00 payable which will make the member a full paid member for 14 months i.e. the two months plus the next year. 2 MONTHS FREE 3.7. Inter Sealine event outside club area with Sealiners from other areas: One suggested venue was Witsand. Craig knows about an ideal venue near Witsand with sufficient accommodation to accommodate all the Club members. He will pursue this possibility and report back. Once we get this information we will set a date and invite other Sealiners in that area to join us. Based on the outcome of this event a decision will be taken to maybe meet the PE gang halfway at e.g. Mosselbay for some form of competition. 3.8. Angola trip: Latest: Not much feedback in this regard was received except for EXPAT (?) that also wants to join the tour. Should there be other people interested in going please make contact with him for transport arrangements. The rest of the information is all available on the site. 3.9. Sealine Stickers: Marthin has indicated that this project is nearing completion and that the stickers should be available shortly. There will be several types of stickers for e.g. car, boat, bait box / cooler, licence disk, etc and prices would be from R 10.00 and up. 3.10. Sealine Jacket and Rash Vest: Marthin lastly reported that the design of a Sealine Jacket and Rash Vest is also in its final stages and to please watch the site for further details in this regard. 3.11. Hannes requested that as many members as possible attend the next meeting where he will be taking ID Photos (Mug Shots) to have membership cards made to identify yourself at our sponsors and other shops, even if you do not currently get any benefit it will assist them in seeing how often we support them and might just persuade them to provide a sponsorship or discount to us. Hi SSEC:WC Members and all interested Sealiners Please take note of the Club’s Members meeting on Tuesday, 22 June 2010 in preparation of the Club’s competition on 26 June 2010 at Cape Point Reserve. Date: Tuesday 22 June 2010 Time: 19H00 (Executive members meet at 18:00) Venue: The Polo & Hunt Club, Durbanville Please confirm if you will be able to attend. All new and prospective members are most welcome. Indien u enige items wil byvoeg, pm my asseblief. Kaspaas Klub Sekretaris SSEC:WC 0727636100 Attachment: Agenda Members 22-06-2010.doc (Downloaded 12 times)
