I think the conditions where actually great! there was good viz both sides and people where diving all over CT. hats off to Steve who organized the event, I think the next one is going to be even better. Steve went all the way for us, even having some boerie rolls ready when we got to the weigh in! if any of you missed this event, make sure not to miss the next event- you will kick yourself!
some good fish came out considering it is CT and thankfully no one had a toothy encounter although i heard some people did their best by swimming all over the place!
this being my first comp i was actually amazed to find out that i won...i don;t see that happening again! I'm sure Steve will put a full report together for us.
so, enter the next one because i'm sure it's going to be a great...

Well done Eckart!  So what fish did you get, and what were some of the other decent fish to come out?

I went fishing for tuna on Sunday, got a yellow of 74 kilos, we each had one good one on the boat, then headed home from the deep at 11:00.

there was a variety of reef fish... a really nice gallie of 1.6kg! i think what was my advantage was the variety, my weighers: 2 zebra, 2 jutjaw, 2 john brown...spearing for a comp is really interesting... you joining us next time?
the odd fish for the comp was a bankie and parrot (all this from a shore dive!) there are some brave men out there!

Hi SHeldon,

No, I've caught one of 82 kilos.  Lots of my mates have been getting fresh tuna, put it that way :)

Cheers,

Tony
