Kob trace ???????????????

My kob traces I use look alot the same as the ones Trophy use except I superglue my flotation to my J-hook. See pick below. My question here is if I use a Circle Hook and set it up as per the rig below will the hook still work as it should or will it have an effect on the hook-up. I have already made alot of traces with the J-hooks for the Kob season and do not want to waste my time making 20 traces with circles if it is not going to work. Your input will be appreciated otherwise it will become trial and error.

I use just one 8/0 Gamakatsu Circle hook with no flotation (keep hook barb and gape well open ... and resist the urge to strike!) - works well, especially with the "Pulley Rig" (do search on SEALINE) ...

If you are going to use flotation with Circle hooks, I would put the flotation no lower on the hook than just past the eye of the hook, or else just above the eye of the hook on the line/ trace. Any lower and the flotation will probably interfere with the Circle hook in doing its job properly ... and you will probably end up hating Circle hooks!

Also, if you want to use two Circle hooks on your rig (not necessary and not really recommended) both hooks/ barbs should probably face the same way on the same plane, not one facing forward and one backward as in your pic with the J hooks.

When you get the hang of Circle hooks, you will probably use nothing else.
