Been a while since I was able to do some Reporting(January).

Had a good time at Cannon Rocks.

Only fished with Sand Prawn and Chokka Combo(This bait is a must for the Eastern Cape- caught all my fish in December on it and now again in July)

Tackle: Poseidon 3L Rod, Daiwa SL50SHK Reel loaded with .45 KFGA White, .65mm Maxima Ultragreen leader.

Trace: Fixed Trace- 20Lbs Fluro, No.7 Daichi DH55, Surfboard Foam and Red Flourescant bead.

Conditions on day of catch: Gentle NW(Blowing for 2 days)- Low tide.

Spot: Just to the right of Cannon Rocks main swimming beach.

I only caught fish on 1 out of 3 days fishing however it was my best fishing day ever (since catching my first Kob)

My first fish of the morning was my PB blacktail- measured 31 cm- If anyone knows the weight pls let me know- I estimate it at 2kg.

My next fish was the biggest fight of my fishing life so far(except when I get my first Raggie)- A Mussel cracker(white) I am still shaking with excitement- Unbelievably I caught it on a DH55 No.7- When I pulled it out of the water I made the stupid mistake of pulling it out by the nylon- you can guess what happened next- snapped nylon. My dad and his friend from East London estimate it at about 75cm. So I think he made size, but I would of released him anyway- these fish are under pressure. He was probably about 3.5kg.

My next fish was an undersize rockod. Didnt fish for non-eds, caught nothing on dropshot in Kariega and Kowie Rivers- got a Garrick/Kob/Meneer of a Mullet to chase my Sensation Pearl White 5"

Then it was on to Uvongo. Fished Orange rocks, caught nothing. Went to to Izotsha yesterday- caught a small shad and Karanteen.

For those of you who know Cannon, The Wreck is almost completely washed away and the beacon on the West pier of the Kowie was recently washed off in the high seas.

Till next report
