Hi Guys

I was at Shelly for 10 days and did not even try to go out to sea because of the bad weather. It changed by the weekend but it was so cold on the jetski that i could not stay longer out than 30 minutes. I have made a big mistake. I did not took my wetsuit down. My fishing trip was over because I did not planned it thoroughly. No wetsuit no fishing. Luckily could I do some shad fishing from the rocks. There was plenty shad and some guys caught nice garrick with sliding live bait at St Michaels rocks. Unfortunately nothing was released. It wasnt nice seeing this beautiful fishes lying on the rocks.

Well next time pack wetsuit in jetski loadbox before packing other kit.

Cheers

Hi PSY

Daai man laat n' jetski werk.

Groete

Manne I went to Lizzard in Durbs and got some 2 mil super stretch job long sleve top... they can make to order but I suprisingly found one on the rack that fitted. Launched on Sat at 6.30 am it was 9 degrees and headed out to protea from ramsgate, quite a long haul, no way I could have done it with out the wetsuit top. It was only R350 and has been very usefull on the early morning winter launches.

Hi 4Tuna

I wanted to contact you when I was at St Michaels. I actually went down to your club twice but the wetaher was not nice at all. At least I could keep the family happy as we could sit in the sun sheltering by the boulders at the skiboatclub beach. Hows things going. I was hoping that we could have some sardine action but ended up catching shad from the side. Mates of mine was at Shelly last week and they have caught quite a lot of Yellowfin tuna. Lucky boytjies.

 Keep well.

Hi 4Tuna

Have you tried catching tuna with redhead poppers as the guys did on ESA. I saw Mark from ESA at Kingfisher a couple of weeks ago. He told me it happened accidentily that they started to catch tuna on the popper. They were popping for kingfish and other fish on Pinnacles at Ponta and he got tired and left the popper in the water and took a drink. Next moment he was on. He repeated same procedure and caught quite a few. He then tried it at Protea banks for the ESA show and it worked again. I surely want to try it out. He said they caught more this way than with sardine chunks.

Cheers

There where a hell of alot of of boats out there on Saturday and I think there where a fair amount of tunny comming out but also a lot getting taxed

Hi 4Tuna

We must think of putting out FADs for the coming summer. The guys in Durban area is having a jol with dorado getting them at their FADs. Most of the boats in the area just shoot out to Protea and I am sure there must be a couple of reefs that is not frequently visited. It becomes cheaper if the FADs are put out in shallower water.

Go well
