Yes,every chance we get if the conditions allow.Still hordes of cracker swimming around there, just not the sizes there used to be.

Here's another cracker from the bulldog and a Bank Steenbras from the Ryspunt area. Both excellent eating.

I dived there during the one WP champs in about 87 with Attie louw and Edward Hayman.

It was a bit deep for me, because I just started serious spearfishing and I asked the Bakkie to drop me off a bit shallower.

Atttie and Edward got some stumps there and i shot a whole lot of different species in the shallows.

The next minute I get pulled out of the water by another boat and severely reprimanded.

They had stopped the compie, because I was "lost".

My wife was on the control boat, which was traill's one cat.

The late Garth Walker gave me a good talking too.

I finished in the top ten and learned that the Struisbaai raggies have more attitude than ours.

My wife hates Struisbaai, after the national/international, when the sat there for a week with the south easter blowing.

They eventually dived Rooi els and that was when Edward got bent.

Jeesh Marius, a serious trip down memory lane.

And the pics of Ed (Bennet)!!!

I still rate him as one of the best spearos I've EVER dived with. I reckon he could definately have been a Springbok if he got "serious" about his diving. I don't think he has dived in probably close to 10 years now. Such a pity that all that talent lies unused.

He used to regularly smoke Mark and Gletwyn and they're no slouches themselves (both Boks)

Hi Corry,

Edward was one of the best divers and also an all round nice guy.

He liked our trips away, Ed, Dirk, Herman and I, because we worked as a team and eveything was shared.
He wasn't too big into the competition.

Ed got married and took family life seriously.

Herman got married and built a yacht

Dirk went to Cape Town

I went into the corporate business and started riding off bikes road again.

That is how life goes

Ed Bennett is currently focusing on cycling. I see him reasonably often and I am trying to get him back into the water.

Moggy have you dived the Gerickes/Sedgefield area lately?
