Guys

I hate telling you's ::oop::(LL - PC Bound, Loams-Border bound and L-H, well just stuck somewhere in Jo'ies) but I have to report on how it went, so if you get to a point where it gets toooooo much:puke:puke You'll be excused from not reading the entire report.....:cry1:cry1:cry1

Went out yesterday and had 2 poor hooksets so them :f1shy's came off.  The proper hooksets saw 31 LGF's boated and 27 photographed.  This was the second consequtive trip that delivered these kind of results at Roodeplaat and well, if 2morrow does the same then I'll be extremely sure that I managed to hev found a LGF HONEY POT!!!

All the fish caught was released, with the biggest weighing around 740grams, (saw some 2kg's + "toppies" "tannies" swimming around but they weren't interested in eating, maybe 2morrow??:hyst:

I'll post the photographs later!

:f1shy

Think we should rename you the "Roodeplaat LGF Slayer".....:clap12

I need to hook up with you 1 day on the water to show me the ins and outs of Roodeplaat LGF's.:fishn

I'm got the carp and Barbel waxed on artificials there but have only managed a few bass over 1kg (more out of fluke than anything)and many rats and mice caught throwing small lures for canaries.:sha

Have a boat so no sweat - what section do you fish? Boating section or Papswaai section? I know they are sticky 'bout letting boats with a outboard motor in the papswaai section even if you just use the electric motor - but now and then one is able to get it right? :kaykak

Unfortunately work does not allow me to fish in the week and some Saturdays - would this be a problem?

I normally launch Daducky from the Boat launch in the main Nature reserve and then head down the bottle neck to the 1st bay on the right (place where I caught my PB, lgf) and of late I found a bay to the left of the bottle neck where these schools of lgf are playing and feeding like they've got Mad Cow Disease......

Weekends isn't a problem, we might even hook up one Sunday (if thats no problem 2 U) however the following weekends might not be possible: 27th Tight Lines Expo, 4th August Gauteng Social Leeuwkop, But like I mentioned to LL, I'll C what I can organise with the Boss ito credits for the weekends of say the 11th and/or 18th of August, then we can make a plan.

Also, Vlakvark and myself will be checking out the "Honey Pot" 2morrow off Daducky's bow and stern ends and if 2morrow delivers the same kind of results then I'll be dead sure that I've found them LGF's winter playground as it will then be the 3rd consequtive trip with the amounts of fish coming out......

Forgot to tell you, I'm currently looking at getting myself a Thumb cover of sorts as them LGF's teeth really roughens up your skin, when it's like it was like yesterday and the trip prior to that.....

Anybody know where I can get something like that or will I have to make it myself perhaps from say a piece of divesuit material?

We're forming a POSSE for the tight lines expo on the 28th (Sat) so far the members of this Posse includes "L-H", "Vlakvark" and myself with the "Kid" and possibly the "Bro". So now that I've got your cell, perhaps I could give you a call to make an arrangement so that we could meet you at the expo so that you could perhaps meet the rest of the Posse.

Just got your MMS, I feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllll like :tissue:cry1:tissue

THAT'S ONE SERIOUS L(Large)GF.

I'm defs going to get hold of you B4 i get to go down that way again!!!!! (cause I don't wanna cry like this again).

BTW, what JHB fishing Expo is this that you're talking about? Details PLS, so that I can get to go shop around for some more gear after the PTA 1.

Hi,

Sorry man I should have mentioned the one in JHB is Tackle dealers - not one myself but have other reasons for going (will send you a pvt mail).

Yeah be keen to hook up for the expo - my boat partner also wants to hook up with me for the show - at least we'll get to meet all of you.

What time are you planning on goin?

Yeah that bass was a bus but unfortunately was caught on live bait. My youngest boet caught one 2years ago same dam 4.8kgs - maybe the same one just somewhat bigger.....

We haven't made final arrangements ito time yet but it should be early, as early as possible and probably for a long while and not like shopping for clothes that tends to be seeing something in the window, dashing in, geeting the size, paying and getting out, it will most probably be like when the B goes shopping for clothes...... If she gets to read this I'm getting a couple of these  :fbash again :lol:1

Will call the rest of the guys and make arrangements ito of time, and where we can meet, and will then give you a buzz.

Tell me is that dam open for the public?

LGF,

Early suit me just fine - hoping to sneak off to the water in the Pm - to wet a line.:wfish

Cool beans....::S

Dam is open to the Public but needs to arranged before time.

Whole area is full of dams with awesome LGF.:f1shy

Left the area in May last year for the early part of the year I managed 4 over 4kgs - all taken on Surface lures - fish are really hunfgry in them tha waters.

If you go to Sodwana again - go to Visagie - one of the lodges there - theres a bass dam 'bout 1-2km from the lodge they'll point you in the right direction - big bass come out there - few photies floating around the bar with some of the bass that came out of that puddle (should I say double decker busses).:fst:

No sweat when you next go - I'll arrange for ya....:tele
