Bass at vasfontein

Hi Guys,

Has anyone been into fish lately? Got 2 500g'mers friday afternoon at vasfontein on one of ratfink's creature type things would you believe it...

LGF, Johanvc, Loams why so quiet did you guys quit bass till the summer months?

Yeah, been quiet this winter, but mainly because I have been busy. And on the times I went fishing, I blanked... So for the time being, I am biding my time :?

Visited Vasfontein a couple of times during mid week sick (oops Sports) afternoons in the last month but didn't even manage a thump on any of the lures.  Vasfontein will only see me again on a warm day in spring not a day sooner, to me it's just not worth the effort and money.

The catching rate has decreased severly in the last one to two months but Sat we had the fortune of docking against a small submerged tree RIGHT ON TOP OF A JACKPOT / HONEY HOLE..... best Bass fishing/cathing I've had since I started hunting them LGF's roughly two years ago.

I'm also planning to take leave for the whole of December and slot a trip or two to Bass Lake in Vereeniging in there, as for the rest of December I'm planning to go hunting all the waters from here to Cairo at least three times each........:dban::dban::dban::dban::dban::dban::dban::dban::dban: won't stop hunting them thou during the months leading up to December and hopefully I'll have more reports similar to Saturdays.

How was your retrieve and  which dam did you get them LGF's and weight?

Yeah sorry I saw your report in the freshwater section. It must have been awesome to find a spot like that after a typical winters day fishing.

Vasfontein was very disappointing the last month but for a guy without a "daducky" is the next best option so...

Caught them on a slow retrieve but not to slow if know what I mean. Tried everything from chatters, slow rolling a spinner, senko, zoom plastics and got it on the R12 a packet ratfink, didn't weigh them but in the region of 500g, fattest bass I have ever seen though.
