danp wrote: Geez, those Oman GTs are massive. I would love to hook one like that on a topwater plug. It must be an awsome sight when such a fish jumps on your plug! Its quite a combination of feelings watching those big fish hit a lure! Still I have to say I'm jealous of that rock salmon in your picture I've been trying to catch a decent specimen on lure my whole life and still scratching the bottom of the barrel! Thought I'd update this thread with some more fishies from round the world... Firstly from mates in Puerto Rico, here is a monster Couta taken on our JigStar Kojak 350 Spin by Roberto Reyes ![]() ![]() And a 53 odd kilo GT taken by Villanculous based guide Morgan O'Kennedy at Bassas de India on one of our Darkster Cubera 180's using a Stella 18000 spooled with Jerry Brown Hollowcore ![]() ![]() and from a little further afield, this image courtesy of Yoichi Mogi-San, featuring the Grand Master of GT fishing, Captain Kenzabaru Fukui, owner and captain of the Big Dipper which runs to Tokara Islands in Japan, haunting ground of some truly mammoth GT's.... Fukui-San has probably caught more GT's over 40 kilos than I've had hot dinners, and is without a doubt one of the finest anglers on the planet.... this fish proves it Taken on a Carpenter BLC 83/40 which is a dedicated Stickbait rod, designed specifically for big yellowtail, not MONSTER GT's, and using just PE 6 braid... 164cm FL and weighed before release and pulled the sacles down to 66 kilos!!!! Incredible! ![]()

Hi Dre big fish seem to like Mogi-San. He took this brute on a trip I guided in the Musandam with Nick a few months back it was the biggest fish of the season weighing in around the 50 kilo mark. Attachment: nick and mogi.jpg (Downloaded 407 times)
