Magic stuff Eeds.... Defingtely a Land of Giants those outer atolls man... I count myself very lucky to have been able to fish Cosmo and Farquahar back in 2005... just wish I'd been the Jigging adn Popping Junkie I am now back then, not just a fly junkie...

Beautiful fish mate, congrats! I'm guessing this was on the Trini and "Long Rod" you used on your first few trips? Must have HURT!! ;-)

Cheers, good to see you back on line here,

Awesome stuff Arno, stoked you got into some epic fish...

Here is one taken in New Cal last week... estimated 65 kilos....

Malcolm Crane - New Caledonia fishing with LPB - Pic courtesy of Brandon Khoo and GTpopping.com.

These guys are probably the finest GT anglers outside of the Japanese, and fish ALOT, I would say 65 kilos is a conservative estimate on this fish...

Aiiibo thats a propr Ignoblis - confirm on a poper ? And that DTT of Richards would have been a fish of a lifetime too. Shame that is heartbreaking !

Bruce - Yip, on a popper... a small one apparently... the report is defintely worth reading... apparently the best trip ever between Brandon and Malcolm, which coming from two of the most seasoned GT poppers, guys who fish 5 Nomad trips, and 4 New Caledonia trips a year at least, thats saying something.... 3 fish over 55 kilo, numerous over 40, countless over 25...

ANother view of Malcolm's beast... this has got to be one of the biggest GT's taken on a popper in the last 5 years:
