SOme incredible fish been taken recently on jigging tackle round the world, inlcuding some 150 kilo plus Bluefin Tuna on jigs and poppers, and even some Bluefin over 250 kilos on Jigs... This fish here below is one of the most impressive to me... 46 kilo Yellowtail taken on a Jig at the 3 Kings on Charter with Mark "Ginga" Amistead of Extreme Charters.... ![]() Fish was released to fight another day..... fantastic effort...

ANother absolute hog from the 3 Kings, taken off the mothership Enchanter, the same boat Roy fished on recently, in VASTLY different conditions... The group had 25 to 30 knot winds with HUGE swell on all their days... But with an experienced skipper like Lance and awesome boat like Enchanter, these guys got into the fish where most boats were sheltering from the wind... This fish was taken on the first drop, at the first stop of the trip: ![]() 37 Kilo's of ANGRY pi$$ed of Yellowtail taken by Shane "Nuthead" Hartstone who is a customer of ours... those of you who have seen Heavy Metal at Ranfurly will recognise him as the tall well built oke... fish look tiny in his arms, so this is truly a BEAST....

Caught today on a popper with an unexpensive 30lb rod and with a 80lb braid line. I've lift this fish up and told the Angler (Carlos) to keep it and try certification because it's the new unofficial WR of JACK CREVALLE, weights more than 30Kg (my guess is around 33Kg) the previous WR was 26Kg also caught here in Luanda, but this time on a popper makes it even more amazing. Let's wait for the official weighting tomorrow. P.S. - The Luanda Islanders call this big Jack Crevalles "Ucua" the regular ones they call them "Macoa", this huge ones (Ucua) are supposed to pass through Luanda every year in schools of 2/3 and no more than 5. benniejordaan wrote: Damn, can't stop looking at it! No, I only noticed that rod on the pic when I arrived home the guys that was cleaning the tackle left it there... It was a 15-30lb rod 80lb line on a popper Collin just brought from Indonesia, I'm trying to locate the popper to have it posted. On a second huge Jack the guy lost the popper..

That rig in the picture (1m75 Penn N.C. 3050 Fjordspin) is definitly not the one that took the fish. Carlos' potential WR Jack Crevalle apparently was taken on a 2,10m 30 lbs rod, reel unknown, line 80 lbs braid, tied directly to the swivel, no shock leader, Indonesian handmade popper, tripple hook under the belly, #9 springring, double rigged Mustad 11/0 Hoodlums again on 77kgs springring. The popper fished another Jack, that was lost boatsinde though. A third hefty fish then took the popper and managed to break the braid... so the creature had to swim off with a piercing! We'll try to complete the details of Carlos' capture. Have a look at the cliffs, where they took the brilliant fish. Attachment: approach 3 buracos carefully.jpg (Downloaded 908 times)
