dear all as an englishman i've had the pleasure of marrying into a south african family. this means december in SA...i certainly can't complain! so as i'm reasonably new to sea fishing, and definately SA, i thought i'd ask the advice of the experts on what tackle to bring over. i know this is a bit general, but i'll mainly be rock, beach and pier fishing. with hopefully a spot of esturary fishing in coffee bay. location wise it'll be: cape town, durban, coffee bay, george, knysna/wilderness area. obviously it'll have to be some general all purpose gear, but i'd be very greatful if anyone can point me in the right direction. kind regards g

Godsfink, If you fishing Coffee Bay in December be prepared as you often get the Yellow Tail coming through,a mediumsurf rod with around 30lb should do.You will probably be doing a lot of `scratching` for Damba(Galjoen) and bronze bream plus i`ts Shad season and they get thick in the `Skie so be prepared .with lighter tackle . With the lighter tackle you can fish the estuarys . Brett Last edited on Fri Nov 24th, 2006 02:18 pm by Brett |
