fishing around alberton

okay so the move to gautengaleng whent smooth

now i thinking of converting the drop shot to bass, i am not keen to drive forever so are there any  decent fishing spots near alberton particularly brakendown oh and safety is a must

also is a normal sixty rand liscence okay or do i have to get another one

Ok there are 4 places in alberton.

But they will never be close to bass lake.

1. zoo farm very safe but you have to pay(Donno price?? havent been there in ages)

2. accross zoo farm there are 2 dams the (one closest to the road) free but in the open have been there a couple of times and never had any problems but always been in big groups

3. at zumbug land at the hangars where the microlites are there is 2 dams one with carp my biggest is 3kg there and another dam just for bass. Never fished there but saw others pick some nice bass there (Entrance is R50 per day per angler and R30 non anglers)

4 just up hennie alberts there is a small dam never fished there but my friend told me that he picked up a 1.3kg bass there.

What is the sizes of these dams?

Mostly all under 1kg but in the dams accross zoo farm there used to be 2-3kg but that is only what I have heard from others.
The dam where the big ones used to be is coverd with green algae.

I probably live not even 1k from jackson dam. Is it worth a try or a waste of time it looks to have little structure and the waters quite dirty - looks like a lot of weekend fishing presure as well. I was considering giving the two dams at reitvlei zoo farm a go. Does anyone have any info? I have fished many times at Rust in Oribi near the microlight strip behind the zumbugs. I have had quiote a bit of success from my inflatable. I find the bank angling there can be quite tough with the only results coming from bouncing a crank or spinner of the rocky parts of the dam wall. Gets a bit espensive when you loose three rapalas in one outing though

I stay in brakpan and would like to go and try this spot. Can you please let me know how to get there and any advice would be much appreciated.
