WHAT? LL, you've never had Overwinds like that? Shees bru, you ain't lived yet!! My next O/w I'll take a pic for you... it's quite hysterical, forget about trying to unpick it! It's "bring the scissors" time!::H

Did you not see the Overwind that President's Angler, Raymond de Bruyn had on ESA  a few months ago? He bust his sinker off and that bird's nest was the worst I ever saw. Def scissors time!! Hee hee! I love it when it happens to the "pro's"!

Guy's

I think i have the worst under my belt.I even have pictures of the scars after the overwind.I burnt my thumb so bad i had a blister there the size of a big marbel. It lasted for about 2 weeks even when i poped it i still had a plaster on the thumb for ages.

The burn is the worst thing that you can get when trying to stop it from Bunching.

Cheers Riymos

Guys

Experts in unpicking overwinds? Man I'll fix that overwind in under 5 minutes, trick is pull the line out of the reel until it hooks on a loop inside on the reel, then move the reel back until you see the loop and pull on the loop until its gets stuck, then pull the main line again until it hooks on another loop again and so forth, virtually just a few minutes and its sorted, thats how a pro on unpicking over-winds I've become, try it... before you call the "boss" with the scisors.....

You got it spot on.

Except, for us ballies, u need a good pair of reading glasses and a torch in low light to see the frigin loops and gniches!

It's amazing how many times I forget the old reading glasses and have to ask someone to tie my knots! Never mind a birds nest! G   (Giggle not LOL)

I too have the problem of the eye's not seeing so well up close (the distance needed to actually see the line properly) and the low light, well, I've got one ot these headlamps, (the New generation type, not the parafin models we used to use when the fastest moving vehicle was a six horse cart).....

I think I must invent someting with a picking needle, a LED light, and magnifying glasses for the job? Patent it and sell it to the fishermen that has to have all the gear, and to the fellow not so good eyed fishermen like us, I'll give it to them for free, but strict testing will be done.......hehehe.

pfffffft, you guys are all wussies!!! I can get an overwind on my spinning reel!!!

I heard some mention of blisters. The best thing to do with a blister is to leave it put for 3 days. After 3 days make a small hole in the blister and drain the fluid. DO NOT PEEL OFF THE SKIN, and allow it to dry I.E. no plaster on it.

It will heal in less than a week.

birdsnests, on a spinnig reel? geeeeez bro, what power breakfasts do you chow in the morning, good advice on the blister, I've also got some good advice on a clean cut (no jagged edges) laceration even if it's deep, but will post it in the medical section, works very well, and no stitches required.

Much easier, is rinse the wound with clean water, dry and push the two sides towards each other, stick a plaster over it in such a manner that it holds the two sides together and the next day you can remove the plaster, only thing is it needs to be done immediately....
