this was a re-book of last year's trip where we filmed my jigging DVD - Heavy Metal at the Ranfurly. We had such great weather with monster Kingfish and Hapuka that this had to be done again.  This trip report is replicated with the permission of the author Simon Gooder (Sid Fishus).  It is well written and describes this wonderful trip in good detail.  Enjoy it guys -

sorry guys, I can't find a way to paste the report in here, maybe some one can do it for me but here is the link -

Chris, awsome report there and some insane fish. I am afraid of what a 30kg yellow tail would do to me.
awsowem tackle there as well. Saw the rods (in pics) you sent Nepptune. Insane equipment. Now to persuade the wife that she doesnt need new curtains etc, but I need a rod.

I've been asked to be best man at a friends wedding in Auckland in February..... dunno if I can make it, but it'll be a bloody good excuse to get out there and get fishing with you guys!!!!

Chris - I have a funny feeling that Nepps, RB and maybe a few others will do the Ranfurly Banks with you guys next year. Will 1st have to see how the JS rods tame the YFT's in the next few months!!!!!

Big discussions in the New Year - Nepps?

Hey Chris! My Gorilla 20 arrived yesterday! Thing is a damn ANIMAL like the name says. Will mate it to the 450 on Sunday and see how it looks and works.

Later, RB

Thanks Roy :dude:.  That Gorilla looks and sounds a good match to that Bomber.  Let me know how it all pans out.
