Hi guys. I have been invited to go fishing to Sodwana bay in June 2021. Will arrive at Sodwana on 19 June 2021 and will be there for the week until 26 June 2021.

It is my first time to Sodwana. The furthest North I have fished is Cape Vidal.

All the reports and articles I have looked up and read are all based on the warmer summer months and does not help me in any way to prepare for the trip.

My question to you guys is what fish will I encounter during my time there ie: 19 June 2021 until 26 June 2021. Any tips and advice shall be welcomed.

Kind regards

Phish

Hi there Phish,

I think to get some answers to your questions, you need to indicate Rock & surf or off-shore fishing.

That will help members to answer you with the correct facet of fishing.

Enjoy your trip, Sodwana is tops.

Morning Phish......
Send me a Whatzapp on 083#@284*+5669@#I will give you some cell numbers of guys who stay there. They will help.

sodwana has clean water fishing wise.
plenty of scattered rocks are abound.

just get a livie and slide it or cast it.
stay away from the bay area where the boats launch.
unless at night.
the bay is too busy during the day.
any natural bait will work in the area

Hi Arie87,

Was due to leave Gauteng on 19 June 2021 unfortunately family that invited me on the trip tested positve for covid on 18 June 2021. Trip was cancelled. Thankfully the resort has refunded their money and I guess that Sodwana shall remain on the backburner for now.

Hi Guys. I hope you are all keeping well.

I am arriving at Saint Lucia on 24 June 2022 and I will be checking out on 1 July 2022.

I will appreciate a heads up on the current weather and conditions and what to expect and of course whats biting.

I contacted Mr Reiners today and I noticed that I was chatting with him in 2021 ... it was good to hook up with him again. He is ever so helpful and will put me in contact with people on the ground there.

I will appreciate any news and information regarding fishing at Saint Lucia, Mission Rocks and Cape Vidal.

Regards
Phish

Hi there Collin,
Yes Pottie aka WWS is the right guy to update you on current affairs & he has many resident friends in St Lucia.
A good fishing trip with a "tale to tell" :wfish always depends on reliable & accurate fishing updates to minimize time spent hunting possible producing spots along a long stretch of beach.
Hope to see some buss sized fish & or even just a good read on your holiday.::tight:
