East London area - looking for safe scratching spots?

Hi All

We are going to visit the in-laws in East London from the 28th, normally I go bonkers with boredom but I recently got into Rock and Surf and want to go give it a proper go whilst there. Not going to target monsters though, was thinking of black tail, bronze bream etc. off the rocks.

They live in Beacon Bay so I am looking at some of the options north to avoid going through town. My biggest concern is safety as I will be alone mostly. After reading and searching it seems Chintsa, Glen Eden and above the river at Gonubie could be possible options?

Hoping some of the resident East London guys can point me at safe spots (tips optional ;)) . First prize though would be if I could tag along and see how people with the know how does it!

Arrie try Cintsa West just south of the tidal pool, there are normally blue fish in that area, sand prawn, sand mussel or pink prawn should catch you something.

Thank you Z for the response. Was thinking that would be the best bet. With the beach closures I am even more worried about safety as the safety in numbers factor is gone.
